Hi, I’m Judy. I hope you enjoy my lovely quilt jacket that I was inspired to make from 2 pillow shams. My husband purchased a beautiful quilt for our king bed. I couldn’t let the shams go to waste and we’re not fans of extra pillows! So purchased a few coordinating fabrics and created this jacket.
I used a basic Butterick pattern that is an old and a well-fitting favorite. I made sure it was straight pieces for ease, copied to blank paper, cut it up in blocks and angles to accomplish my jacket. I used the edging from the pillow shams for my hems.
I am NOT a quilter, I LOVE sewing and this was a perfect need for my Fall and early Spring wardrobe in Missouri. I have been sewing for over 65 years and was a FAN of the Nancy Zieman show before she passed, and all the wonderful catalog items.
Thanks!
Judy Scheppmann
