Hi, my name is Velvet. I have been a seamstress for 48 years sewing my own clothing, then I sewed costumes for my kids ballet and clogging teams. I moved into bridal for the children of the families on the dance teams (who were friends with my children) and I sewed one wedding gown and a gold overlay and designed and sewed another gown for two of my own children.
Later, I decided I wanted to learn free motion quilting specifically for landscape art projects.
The morning sunrise and evening sunset baby quilt was somewhat inspired by a painting my daughter did (see the cloud designs). The theme for the quilt was “Ocean”. The quilt was designed as a gift for my new pastor and his wife to welcome their 2nd child. I made the baby quilt, but I think I will stay with smaller landscape art projects! No more quilts! They are heavy and hard to work with!
I used quilting cotton and batiks and fleece for the baby quilt, Quincera gold fabric for the gold wedding gown overlay and sequins and shimmer fabrics for the aqua gown with a lace corset back.
Thanks!
Velvet
