Ahhh. Do you hear that? The birds are singing. Spring is in the air. (Or at least in my neck of the woods.) Spring is not that far away at all and for those in cold weather regions, I’m sure you are all very ready for it! With spring comes little baby bunnies, green grass, and new spring quilting templates.
Now, we all know that Spring can be very wet and very muddy and sometimes pretty darn cold. It teases us with nice days here and there, but overall it’s still “stay inside and sew weather.”
Even if the weather outside is cold and rainy, let’s sew something bright and fun – something springy and happy! My mind is full of cheerful projects that I want to make! In our house, we celebrate Easter and I love all the pastel colors associated with the holiday and with Easter eggs.
When I was a kid, we always dyed our Easter eggs, made a terrific mess, and had beautifully colored eggs in a basket. Now I’m a mom and I can count on one hand how many times I let my kids dye their own eggs. The plastic eggs are just so much easier! But this table runner reminds me of those beautiful hand-dyed Easter eggs from my youth.

Now is the time to get crack-a-lackin’ on those Spring and Easter-themed sewing projects! Easter is early this year and will be on March 31, 2024. That’s only about a month away from this post date! Where does the time go? If you love the table runner above, you’re going to love this pillow as well. Hang on to your hats!

Misty shows you how to make the pillow and the table runner on the same tutorial. The patterns are adorable and there is even a mug rug pattern as well. I love mug rugs because they are quick projects and they make super cute little gifts!
You may be thinking how did Misty get those perfect Easter egg shapes? Well, here’s the secret weapon to sewing perfect Easter eggs – the new Missouri Star egg template! Misty uses the egg template and the bunny template to make the table runner.

These new Spring Templates from Missouri Star are so fun to use! There is the bunny and the Easter egg, but also a butterfly and several others. View the entire Spring Template Collection on Missouri Star or click here!

Even if it isn’t warm, bright, and sunny at your house, you can feel the promise of Spring in your sewing room! Start working on one of these fun Spring sewing projects and it will bring you joy. I promise. Happy sewing!
‘Til next time!
