Hi, I’m Sally. I have been quilting for over 25 years, but lately, I’ve decided to do something a bit different, yet still utilize my quilting skills. I’ve added a series of fabric art quilts/wall hangs to my repertoire. Each is one-of-a-kind using various types of inspiration–photographs, memory, jigsaw puzzles, imagination, etc.
Many people enjoy the beauty and calming effects of fish tanks with their striking fish, rippling water, and colorful environment. This is my version. This quilt uses ink jet fusible fabric, batik cutouts, and embroidery yarn to create an up close and personal view of a Florida coral reef and honor the sea turtles that nest on her beaches. Each item is fused and then stitched in place.
I live in South Florida and am the author of twenty historical nonfiction, historical fiction, and mystery books, each with a Florida theme. I quilt as a hobby (love the fabric, textures, and colors!), but also sell my pieces.
Thank you.
