Hi! My name is Lydia Easley and I am a sewist of intermediate ability with an interest in anything textile or paper-crafting related. I grew up sewing doll clothes, and then my own clothes before passing on to other hand-work and quilting. Recently, I was in need of a new bra and decided to try making one.
This pattern was a pdf download from Orange Lingerie and is their Marlborough style and it is wonderful!! The directions are very clear and easy to follow, and the customer service is spectacular, as I had some questions regarding sizing before I ordered the pattern. Highly recommend!
My bra-making materials came from Bwear.se out of Sweden. (I live in Europe.) They were perfect for this first foray into sewing intimates. I did also supplement the directions by watching the same Marlborough bra tutorial on Youtube by Liz Sews, but the printed directions are super understandable and clear.
If you are a curious sewist, definitely give lingerie sewing a try. It’s easier than you think!
Thank you!
Lydia Easley
Does this bra pattern require underwire? I’m trying to stop using the wires
Hi Vickie. I am not sure if this pattern requires the underwire or not. I know the website offers some patterns without wires. And I’ve heard their customer service is fantastic about answering questions. Here’s the link to their website. https://orange-lingerie.com/
Does this bra pattern show a minimizer cup. I have large, heavy breasts and try not to make them obvious.
Hi Elisabeth. To be honest, I am not familiar with that pattern. I know that the gal who submitted the bra to Sew & Tell has had excellent luck with the customer service of that pattern company. She said they are very helpful with sizing and will answer all questions. Here is a link to their customer service department. I hope they can answer all of your questions.
