You all know I love to sew, stitch, and quilt, but you may not know that I also love history, genealogy, and anything to do with the past. I even host a local television show all about the local history of my area! So, what happens when a new stitching product comes out that combines history, genealogy, and stitching??! I go crazy for it!
I am just giddy. Last week, Missouri Star Quilt Co. launched Ingrid’s Wildflowers. Ingrid’s Wildflowers are heirloom embroidery patterns inspired by Jenny Doan’s grandmother, Ingrid.
Ingrid was an immigrant from Sweden who loved to embroider and she often embroidered onto denim squares. She would sketch out her own wildflower embroidery designs. These original designs are included in the heirloom embroidery kit from Missouri Star. Each and every design is so beautiful and fun to stitch!
The Ingrid’s Wildflowers Heirloom Embroidery Kit by Missouri Star will take you on a magical hand-stitching journey! Inside is everything you need to stitch your own embroidered blossoms. The kit includes 20 wildflower pre-printed Peel and Stitch Washaway embroidery sheets, 20 wildflower instruction cards, 10 balls of 10oz Perle Cotton embroidery floss, 2 needles, 1 needle minder, 1 needle threader, embroidery scissors, and a 7″ Beechwood embroidery hoop. Find it here!
You will need fabric to stitch these designs on and Jenny has a kit for that too. This denim fabric and simple quilt design mimics the nostalgic quilt that Jenny’s Grandmother Ingrid had stitched her designs onto. This quilt kit is very easy to put together and includes precut fabric squares. This is your canvas for those beautiful wildflower embroidery designs! (Or anything else you want to add in!)
I hope you can see why I’m so excited about Ingrid’s Wildflowers. They are just the cutest designs! I’m actually planning on embroidering some of them onto my denim jacket. I may even embroider some onto my jeans pocket as well. That’s the fun thing about embroidery – you can add it to clothing, quilts, pillows, curtains, etc! Happy stitching!
‘Til next time!
