Hi I’m Karen from Minnesota. I made this One Block Wonder quilt using seven panels featuring The Last Supper. It took about 80 hours to complete. If you zoom in on some of the hexagons you can see hands, faces and bottom left between whitish stars is hexagon with stripes. It is from the ceiling of the room.
I gave this quilt to a friend in memory of her late husband, who used to be a part of The Last Supper Drama at Easter time and go to different churches to perform the story. A quilting friend helped me with cutting it because I couldn’t stand very long at the cutting table because of having a hip replacement.
I have been quilting for nineteen years and love making quilts and giving them as gifts. This Last Supper quilt was one of four quilts that I made and gave as gifts the week of May 19-26, 2024, for wedding, graduation, birthday, and anniversary! I have made fourteen quilts since the beginning of this year and all have been given as gifts. I have not sold one quilt in my nineteen years. I just got back from the fabric shop to get backings for four more quilts. I guess I better get busy! I have made more than 250 quilts in nineteen years and I have two table-runners, three table-toppers, and two nap quilts for the granddaughters at my house!
Thanks so much!
