A Thanksgiving Full of Food, Shopping, and Fabric!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday full of wonderful food, family, friends, and your hearts are full of thanks and gladness. My Thanksgiving has been lovely so far. As I’m writing this, it is Thanksgiving Eve. I will spend this evening preparing a few dishes and spending time with family. I’m a traditional girl and I love holiday traditions. One of our Thanksgiving traditions is that read a very special book to my children. Never mind that my children are 18, 14, and 11, they still love this book! I’ve read it aloud every Thanksgiving Eve since my oldest was two years old. It’s called ‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Natasha Wing. It is a super cute book and my kids love it – even if they have outgrown it a bit.

My favorite Thanksgiving food is stuffing, or what some call dressing. I love, love, love it and if I had to pick just one thing to put on my plate, that would be it. I’m so glad I don’t have to pick just one thing though because I really love so many other traditional Thanksgiving foods. I love sweet potato casserole. I love a good ham. And I love dessert. All of them.

But enough about the food, let’s move on to Black Friday shopping – my other favorite part of Thanksgiving week! Back in the day, I used to get up at the crack of dawn and go to all of my favorite stores to get great deals. I loved the crowds, the excitement, and the entire Black Friday vibe. I would shop all day long and be completely exhausted at the end of the day. I was young and I had the energy for that. These days, I’m thankful for online shopping. The only place I go on Black Friday is to my recliner to shop. And shop I do!
