Hi, I’m Amy. This is my latest art quilt and I’m so excited about it. I love succulents, but I have a really hard time keeping them alive. So I decided to make one that is always beautiful and I don’t have to water it. This is a small project, only about 8” x 11”. There are three fabrics, one light green batik, and one hand-dyed blue and the background. I used Derwent pigment blocks, colored pencil and an oil stick to add detail. It is raw edge appliqué with misty fuse holding it down. I decided to do a trapunto effect and Quilt with two layers of batting underneath the succulent so it makes the succulent feel puffy like in real life. It’s quilted with a light green thread. I think I will make another one to go with it.

Be sure to check out my website, www.experiencethequilt.com.

Thanks!
