Hi, I’m Mary and this is a dress I made. It is a McCall’s Heritage pattern. The dress was modified in its construction, fit and design. The fabric base is Stretch Taffeta with Zahara Guipure French Venice lace overlay. The inside of the jacket contains the boning set on cotton interfacing and concealed by a complementary cotton lining. Corset hook and eye tape was used for the closure to keep the lace line. The embellishments, outfitting her properly for a Steampunk adventure, have been collected from all over in my travels. The skirt lining is polyester and has three stay ties. The bottom hem consists of 4 layers, the pleated lace I completed with a short break to get the needle out of my finger. An easy estimate for hand sewing time would be 250 hrs. An under petticoat with boning was used, and was purchased. I liked this look better. (However, it looks like it slipped down when it was moved during judging.)
Hat and associated bag were not entered as they would have been listed in craft, which would be fine but would not be placed together. I like the ribbons!
