Hi, my name is Martha Joseph Johnson. I live in Concord, North Carolina. I am still learning to sew and actually am currently taking my first in-person sewing class. I have done a few online classes. I started sewing during Covid with making masks to donate and it turned into a mass production. I then started watching videos on making masks and later on making skirts. But one day, I landed on quilt-making videos. One of my favorite video presenters is Jenny Doan with Missouri Star Quilt Co.
I started with basic quilts like layer cake squares and moved to jelly rolls including my favorite, Jelly Roll Race. I finally got the nerve to go big! I watched a video of Jenny doing a quilt called the Courthouse Steps. I thought it was beautiful! So I set out to make it. It was tough for a beginner, but I made it through. I did basic quilting of stitch in the ditch. I am not sure of the designer name for the jelly rolls because I had them in my stash but I love how it came out. Thanks to Jenny for all the things I have learned! I have made lots of quilts now and gave three for Christmas that the receivers loved.
Thanks!
Martha

You did a great job! That is beautiful . Now I want to make one. I bet a Christmas jelly roll would be fun and it could look like big hanging ornaments. Jenny’s videos are so great. I also still learn from Nancy’s books and shows.
Love your color choices Martha! It looks wonderful.
