Hi, I’m Colleen from Las Cruces, NM! I have “sew enjoyed” the BOW Sewalong. I looked forward every Thursday to the new pattern download and picking out the fabrics for that square. Using the Kaffe Fassett line for both the piecing and backing was such fun and truly sparked my creativity. The background was a low volume instead of a solid, which added another interesting flair. Having the block patterns for future use will be great to use in other quilts.
I finished last week after Block 20 was released. I chose to do plain sashing without cornerstones since the blocks were busy enough already. The backing is Kaffe Fassett and its sheen on the fabric truly made quilting it a breeze. The quilting is also a simple diamond pattern, so as not to distract from the blocks.
I really enjoy the weekly newsletters and information you share, but realized I was missing so much on the Nancy’s Notion website! There is so much information there other than the newsletter, it is truly a great tribute to Nancy’s legacy.
Thank you again for the Sewalong, I can’t wait for the next one!
Colleen

This quilt is a fine example of get it done use up those left over pieces of fabric. I do like the quilt stitching pattern the diamond was a good choice for the background.
Very nice, Just wondering if you remembered to put a lable on the back ? Its so important to the history of the piece. Remember in 100 years someone might be wondering who made this piece of art and when & where was it done.
