Hi, I’m Jane. I made my first quilt about 50 years ago, and have sewed all my life, but have really been an active quilter over the last 15 years. I live in the Midwest and belong to a couple quilting groups in our small town that make quilts for foster kids and veterans and other worthy projects.
This quilt I made from a quilt kit that included the pattern “Escher Cubed”, and Kaffe Fasset fabrics. Without a kit, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to choose the light, medium and dark fabrics correctly to make this pattern pop! There were eighth to quarter yards of about 30 different prints. I am a pretty freestyle quilter in general. The cutting, colors and placement in this quilt required more accuracy than I was used to. There were 25 different unique triangles in this quilt, and a total of over 400 triangles. Each triangle had to be turned to the correct orientation and placement for the pattern to emerge. I free-motion quilted it with a lovely pattern that doesn’t show a bit due to the multiple busy fabrics!! It was a challenge and I am happy with the results!
Thanks!
Jane Dawson
