Learn to Make a Fabric Basket!

This Jelly Roll Oval Basket is so fun to make! You’re going to love this free pattern! You can create a textured basket that mimics rope pottery. Begin with 2 1/2″ wide strips of fabric and cotton batting; add thread and stitch! It’s so easy! The finished basket is perfect for containing crafts, fruit, or gifts.

Supplies needed for this project are listed on the pattern. Mainly, you need a jelly roll of pre-cut 2 1/2″ fabric strips and a roll of 2 1/2″ strips of batting. Buying both of these items pre-cut makes life a whole lot easier. However, you can always cut your own batting and fabric into strips, as well. The choice is yours!
