Twenty Free Quilt Block Patterns You Will Love!

Hi friends! Are you looking for a new project to start? Do you love samplers? This then may be for you! I’m sharing patterns from the Nancy’s Notions Sampler that we did as a block-of-the-month quilt-along a couple of years ago. I know we have a lot of new faces over here at Nancy’s Notions, so I’m resharing all of the patterns here. And yes, they are all FREE!!! And yes, they are super fun to make! And yes, you will love making this quilt.

There are 20 blocks total. Each block is 12 1/2″ and will finish at 12″ once you have them all sewn together. This makes a gorgeous sampler!

The links to the block patterns are all at the bottom of this post. They are free to download and print. (Disclaimer: These blocks were originally released by Nancy’s Notions in 2018, and then featured again in 2023, so some of you may already have them.)

There are no rules to this quilt along. There is no sign-up sheet. You don’t have to let us know that you are participating. All you have to do is download or print the free block patterns and make the blocks! It’s so easy!

Another idea is to make 12 or more of the same free block and not make it a sampler. Just pick your favorite and make an entire quilt using that block! Or you could mix and match two blocks. The possibilities are endless.

What colors will you use? This quilt would be perfect for using up scraps or for that new fabric that you’ve had your eye on!
