How Do I Use A Quilt Template for Applique?
Quilt templates are perfect for applique work and depending on the shape, even piecing. To use the templates for applique, follow these steps:
1. Add a fusible stabilizer to the back of your fabric. (Follow directions on the package.)
2. Trace your template onto the fusible stabilizer.
3. Cut your shape from the fabric with sharp scissors.
4. Peel paper backing from fusible stabilizer and apply to project with iron.
5. Applique onto project using an applique stitch or zig-zag stitch.
6. Voila! You just appliqued a cute shape onto your project!

Other Uses
Quilt templates aren’t just for applique. You can also use them on paper and make adorable paper projects. Other templates really lend themselves to piecing, as well. For example, the Mini Tumbler Template is a super fun template that is perfect for piecing. This template can be used along with a rotary cutter for faster cutting. To piece these together, simply cut as many as you need for the size of quilt you need, line them up in rows, and turn every other tumbler upside down.
