Welcome Back, Friends! 💛
Hi friends—welcome back! If you’ve been wondering where we’ve been, we promise we didn’t disappear forever. We took an extended break while we updated and refreshed things behind the scenes, and we’re excited to slowly but surely get back into the swing of things here at Nancy’s Notions.
Our newsletter is also getting some love, and while it’s not quite ready to relaunch just yet, it will be back soon. Until then, thank you so much for hanging in there with us. Your patience means more than you know.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. Mine was truly great. I leaned all the way into the fun holiday things—watched all my favorite Christmas movies (yes, even the cheesy ones), enjoyed two full weeks off with my family, and soaked up lots of quality family time. It was exactly the reset I needed.
And then… I learned how to play mahjongg.
And let me tell you—I am hooked. Slightly obsessed. Fully committed. 😄
Because of this new obsession, I’m now gearing up to sew some bags to hold my tiles and all the little accessories that go along with them. Now, full disclosure: bag-making is not my favorite thing to sew. But I’ve decided that 2026 is the year I get better at it. Growth mindset, right? I’ll definitely keep you posted on how that goes—wins, struggles, and all.

In the meantime, I wanted to share a super cute free bag pattern with you. I’ve posted this one before, but it’s truly an oldie but goodie and absolutely deserves another moment in the spotlight. It’s practical, adorable, and a great project whether you love bag-making… or are trying to love it a little more. I’m planning to use it to carry my mahjongg racks and other extras when I go to play mahjongg with friends. I haven’t made it yet, so I may decide that it works best for my tiles. Either way it will be fun to make!

This bag pattern only needs 5 fat quarters – check out these adorable 5 fat quarter bundles! These would each make an adorable sling bag! Find them both on Missouri Star Quilt Co. or click here!
Thanks again for being here, for sticking with us, and for welcoming us back so kindly. There’s more to come very soon—and I can’t wait to share it with you.
Happy stitching,
Beth 💕
