Fall has finally arrived, and I couldn’t be happier. The air feels crisp, the evenings are cool, and I’m already busy sprucing up my front porch for the season. Mums are my go-to flowers for fall, and I always make sure there are some on my front steps by September 1. There’s just something about this time of year – the pumpkins, the colors, and the cozy vibes that makes me want to dive right into fall sewing projects.
When I think about fall quilting, my mind immediately goes to warm, rich tones that echo the changing leaves outside. Deep oranges, golden yellows, earthy browns, and burgundy reds seem to work their way into every project I dream up this time of year. I love the way a quilt in those shades feels like bringing autumn indoors, wrapping up all that beauty and comfort in fabric form.

This season is also the perfect excuse to start projects that add a little extra coziness to the house. A fall table runner, a set of quilted placemats, or even a quick throw for the couch makes a big difference in the atmosphere at home. I always find that even small projects like these give me that satisfying “seasonal refresh” without a huge time commitment. Plus, they’re the kinds of projects I actually finish before the next season rolls around!

And of course, fall fabrics are irresistible right now. Whether it’s a line filled with pumpkins and acorns, or just a collection of warm, textured prints that pair beautifully with autumn décor, I can never resist picking up a few new pieces. There’s something inspiring about starting the season with fresh fabric stacked up on the cutting table, just waiting to be turned into something cozy. Fall is a season for slowing down, savoring, and stitching – my favorite combination.

The Autumn Breeze Collection is just positively gorgeous! You can find it here!
I hope you are all as excited about this time of year as I am, but if you’re not, maybe a fun fall sewing project will get you in the mood? ‘Til next time! Happy sewing!
