Hi sewing friends! If you’re like me, you love puzzles. I have found that so many of my quilting friends love to puzzle too. I think puzzles and quilting go hand in hand, or piece in piece, if you will. Ha! When you think about it, quilting is really just a creative twist on solving puzzles. Each quilt block is like a puzzle piece, and every fabric choice, seam, and stitch works together to complete the big picture. Whether I’m laying out rows of a traditional nine-patch or experimenting with modern improv quilting, I’m essentially putting together a masterpiece one piece at a time. It’s no wonder that so many quilters, myself included, also have a love for puzzles.
What’s better than a puzzle that features quilting? Nothing! I’m in love with both of these puzzles (and the cute cats!) and I’m adding them to my to-do list! You can find both of these on Missouri Star Quilt Co. or just click here!
Puzzles and quilts share a lot in common. Both require patience, creativity, and an eye for detail. A finished quilt, much like a completed puzzle, gives you that deep sense of accomplishment when all the pieces come together perfectly. And let’s face it—there’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of seeing a jumble of pieces transform into something beautiful and whole.
These items were designed for puzzlers! The Puzzle Sorting Trays on the left, and the Puzzle Rollaway Mat on the right are the perfect gift for any quilter – or heck, just treat yourself! These make putting a puzzle together easier and tidier! You can find them both by clicking here!
For quilters, putting together a puzzle can be the perfect way to relax after a day at the sewing machine. It’s a chance to unwind, clear your mind, and let your hands and eyes stay busy in a different way. Plus, so many puzzles feature gorgeous quilt patterns or cozy, sewing-themed artwork that it feels like an extension of our favorite hobby.
You can find these quilt-inspired puzzles on Missouri Star Quilt Co. or just click here!
If you’re looking for your next quilt pattern, but maybe wanting one that is puzzle-inspired, check out the Missouri Puzzle Pattern. This one is so pretty and looks amazing in any color scheme. I particularly love it in red and white. You can find this pattern, as well as the digital pattern for Missouri Puzzle, on Missouri Star Quilt Co. or just click here!
I have adored puzzles since I was a little girl. Always have, always will! I think because it allows my fingers and my brain to stay busy on the same task, at the same time in a way that other projects don’t. Does that make sense? Anyway, just know that I’ll be hunkered down all winter with my fabric in the sewing room and my puzzle in the dining room. See you in the Spring!
‘Til next time!
Beth
