Hi, sewing friends! Or should I say, stitching friends? Because today I’m going to talk about my love of shoe embroidery. It’s fun. It keeps my hands busy while I’m sitting. And the shoes turn out so stinkin’ cute!! What’s not to love?
I can’t always be in my sewing room, so my embroidery projects travel with me and honestly, shoes are my favorite thing to embroider. Sometimes I buy new shoes and embroider them, but I also buy a lot of the shoes at a nearby resale shop. I wash them up and start stitching. They look brand new when I’m done.

These are some hand-embroidered shoes I made. The tan pair on the left came from my local thrift store and I jazzed them up. The white pair on the right, I purchased new. I used Missouri Star Peel & Stitch paper to draw my design onto and then stuck them to the shoe and stitched over the paper. When I was done stitching, I got the area wet and the paper dissolved. Easiest thing ever!

A pair of Converse shoes that I embroidered for my daughter. I love how this pair turned out!

I like to stitch on shoes, but you can also add some cute designs to denim, shirt collars, bags, and so much more. The possibilities are endless and embroidery is so hot right now! Adding just the right somethin’ somethin’ to an item is so satisfying. Check out all of the cute embroidery designs, kits, and more at Missouri Star Quilt Co. Just click here!
‘Til next time!
