I just finished making this adorable cape for our 4 year old granddaughter and it turned out wonderfully! I used two colors of nice quality satin and cut the circle 16″ long. I think I could have reduced the size of the hood a little but I’m sure it will be fine. The pattern is very easy if you’ve been sewing 50+ years as I have but I’d say it would be fine for a beginner too. I know our “Princess” is going to love wearing it!
Thanks so much for this post and free pattern! I looked and looked online and was SO pleased to find it! I had a lovely piece of satin and made a cape for my “always playing princess” granddaughter. I only had enough satin for one circle, so instead of “sandwiching” the hood between two cape layers, I “sandwiched” the single layer of cape between the two hood layers. I had a large amount of lace that worked great for the edges and saved a lot of time, since I don’t have a serger. You made Grandma and “the princess” VERY happy, and I thank you!
