Let’s talk about gifts today. Sometimes it’s easy to find the perfect gift for a child or for a family member, but what about those quilting friends of yours? Do you have a Secret Sister in your quilt or sewing guild and need a present for her? Or maybe you have a friend who loves to go on Shop Hops with you? Need a gift for the quilter who has everything? Here are some great ideas!
Make a Fabric Bouquet!
A bouquet made from fat quarters is a creative way to turn beautiful fabric into the perfect gift for a creative friend! I made one years ago for my mother and it was a big hit. I recently received my own beautiful bouquet from my dear friend Dorothy on the morning of my daughter’s wedding. Dorothy called it the “Mother of the Bride Bouquet.” Of course, it wasn’t meant to be carried that day, just a sweet gift from a thoughtful friend. She encouraged me to make a project to remind myself of that day. I haven’t taken the bouquet apart yet because it is so pretty and looks great in my sewing room. One day the perfect project will present itself to me and I’ll use those fat quarters. Until then, I’m just going to admire the bouquet.

It’s super easy to make your own fabric bouquet! Here’s how you do it!
Supplies needed:
- Fat quarters (6-12)
- Rubber bands
- Fake flowers in coordinating colors
- Stems (just remove fake flower)
- Vase
Start by making your roses out of your fat quarters. You simply roll the fat quarter and put a rubber band around the bottom to hold it together. Next, pull the center of the fabric up from the middle of the roll and a rose appears. Take an extra stem and stick it into the bottom of your fabric rose.
Now, just add your fabric flowers to a vase. Fill in with fake flowers and voila! You have a beautiful bouquet! It’s a great gift for a quilter!

Other Great Gift Ideas for Quilters!
Collectibles and Memorabilia
For those who love to collect unique items, consider a quilting-themed collectible item. From charming pins and magnets to beautifully crafted ornaments, these items are perfect for adding a touch of quilting flair to any home.

Jim Shore figurines are one of my favorite gifts for quilters! Each one is so cute and always features a quilt pattern somewhere in the carving. They are so stinkin’ adorable. I love them all! (Psst… they also come as ornaments!) Find Jim Shore figurines on Missouri Star Quilt Co. or click here!

T-Shirts and Apparel
One great idea is quilter-themed t-shirts. These shirts are not only stylish but also celebrate the joy and creativity of quilting. With fun slogans and charming designs, they make a perfect gift for guild members or friends who love to show off their love of quilting.

Give a Gift You’re Tempted to Keep!
Buying or making gifts for quilters is so fun but be careful, you’ll probably be tempted to keep them! I know that’s how it goes for me, so I’ve learned to buy two of some things – one for my friend and one for me! Ha! Anyway, I hope you have fun shopping for your friends or making them a beautiful fabric bouquet!
‘Til next time,
Beth
