Hi! I’m Kimberly Miller and I made this quilt in 2018.   I bought the Sweetwater Tiles pattern after meeting the pattern designer, Mickey Depre, at a quilt retreat at Threads of Time Quilt Shop and Retreat Center in Danville, Illinois.  Some time went by, and in the summer, my friends and I returned to Threads of Time for another visit to the quilt retreat. It was a Christmas in July weekend and imagine my surprise when I arrived and saw that the pattern designer (Mickey Depre) had also returned with a group of friends! Needless to say, it was a little intimidating working on my project in the same work room as the designer, but I kept on sewing!!

I love this line of fabrics, with the vintage pinks and greens. This fabric is from the Urban Chicks Swell Christmas line. I added some red and green polka dot Grunge to complete my plan. There was also a large Santa panel available when I bought fabric. I chose to cut out and machine applique the Santa panel to the back of my quilt, so it became a reversible quilt.  I rent long-arm time and do my own quilting. For this quilt, I used a poinsettia edge-to-edge pattern with light pink thread. It is fun to get this quilt out to use each Christmas!

It makes a beautiful Christmas bed quilt!
It is reversible with Santa on the back.
My label I used on the back of the quilt.
Each block was so fun to make!
I used a design wall at the retreat center as it all came together.
