I can hardly contain my excitement as we gear up for one of the most anticipated events of the year at Missouri Star Quilt Co.—our Halloween Party in Hamilton, Missouri! This celebration is shaping up to be an unforgettable experience, packed with quilting fun, spooky (but not too spooky!) surprises, and lots of laughter. If you’ve been dreaming of a quilting adventure that combines your love for fabric with a festive twist, then you absolutely cannot miss this event.
First and foremost, I am thrilled to announce that we’ll be hosting the incredible Riel Nason, author of The Little Ghost that was a Quilt. Riel will be joining us for a special book signing, where you’ll have the chance to meet her in person and get your copy of this heartwarming book signed. It’s a story that has touched so many of us, and I can’t wait to see the joy on everyone’s faces as they get to connect with Riel and celebrate her delightful tale.
But that’s not all—we’re bringing the magic of The Little Ghost that was a Quilt to life with our very own Quilt Walk Parade! Riel will be leading the way, and we’re inviting all of you to join in with your own Little Quilts. If you’ve ever created a quilt inspired by her book or have a mini quilt you adore, this is your chance to showcase it in a parade that’s sure to be as heartwarming as it is fun.

And speaking of fun, who’s up for a little Halloween mischief? We’ve got some lighthearted, quilting-themed thrills planned that you won’t want to miss. You can Meet Jack the Ripper (don’t worry, he’s much more friendly than his infamous namesake!). Snap a selfie with our very own Jack, and you’ll walk away with a brand-new seam ripper to add to your toolkit.
For those who enjoy a good laugh, our Quilter’s House of Nightmares is sure to hit the spot. It’s a humorous take on the quilting challenges we all face—the kind that make you want to cry, but you can’t help but laugh instead. Come ready to commiserate with fellow quilters, share your own stories, and leave with a smile.
And for those that love to dress up, there will be a Halloween costume contest! With prizes, I might add! Woot woot! Start planning now and show off your costume at the Halloween Party! Remember, the dates are October 18 and 19, 2024!
Now, here’s where it gets even better—our Halloween Party coincides with Guild Days! This means you can bring your fellow guild members along for the fun. Whether you’re arriving by bus or car, you’ll be treated to even more surprises that will make your visit to Hamilton one for the books. If you’re coming with your guild or sewing group, be sure to RSVP, so that we know you’re coming. Groups will receive special goodie bags, as well as be registered for gift cards!
I can’t wait to see all of you there, decked out in your Halloween best, ready to celebrate quilting, community, and a little bit of spooky fun. Let’s make this Halloween at Missouri Star Quilt Co. one to remember!
Happy sewing! ‘Til next time!
