Well, hello again, sewing friends! It feels SO good to be back! After a little behind-the-scenes tech work here at Nancy’s Notions, we are finally getting back to our weekly Beth Said Sew posts. I’ve missed you! A chill is in the air and high school football season is in full swing around here. It’s one of my favorite times of the year! I’m still making time to sew and have finished several small projects and one big one. Plus, I’ve been hoarding fabric for my upcoming winter projects. Can’t wait!
If you’re new here, I’m Beth Cooper, and I’m thrilled to be the person behind Beth Said Sew. I’ve been part of the Nancy’s Notions and Missouri Star family for several years now, and one of the things I love most about my job is getting to talk about sewing with all of you.

But before we get back to our regularly scheduled sewing adventures, I thought it might be fun to reintroduce myself! I’ve been married for 27 years, and we have three kids. Two of them are still at home, and both are in high school. So life at my house is busy, noisy and occasionally involves wondering where all the food went! And then there are the cats. I have three rescue cats, and they each have their own very big personalities.
There’s Luella, who is commonly called Luella Bella Cinderella Esmerelda, or simply Lulu when we don’t have time for the full name. Then there’s Roxanne, also known as Roxanna Banana. Yes, she answers to both. And finally, there’s Baby Cat. She has three legs, approximately two brain cells, and I love her more than I can possibly explain. She is living proof that you don’t need to have everything figured out to be completely adorable.
Of course, when I’m not working or chasing cats, I’m sewing. And I have a LOT going on right now! My big recently-finished project is Tilda’s Merry Christmas quilt, which is now hanging behind my desk. I don’t care if it’s not Christmas yet. That sweet thing is hanging on the wall.

This fabric line from Tilda is expected to re-release in Summer 2027, so stay tuned for more information on that!
I’m also knee-deep in piecing a Farmer’s Wife quilt, which is definitely one of those projects where I occasionally wonder what I was thinking when I started it. But I’m having so much fun with it!
I also made 40 key chains this week. Forty! They are so cute, though, so I may have gotten a little carried away. And I am absolutely in love with making snap pouches. They are quick, useful and just plain fun to sew. If you want to make your own, Snappy Bands make that satisfying snap closure easy. Basically, if there is fabric within reach, there’s a pretty good chance I’m making something with it.

I’m also incredibly excited to be back to weekly posts. If you’ve been receiving our newsletter, thank you for being a subscriber! We love having you join us each week. If you’re not getting the newsletter yet, head over to the Nancy’s Notions newsletter sign-up and join us. It’s the easiest way to make sure you don’t miss our newest sewing inspiration.
And don’t forget that Nancy’s Notions has more than 750 articles about sewing and quilting, plus free patterns and so much more. We are just like a super fun sewing or quilting magazine, except it is all online! You can browse the categories right from the homepage, or if you’re looking for something specific, just type it into the search bar. Need help with a 1/4″ seam allowance? Search it! Want to learn about sewing pants? Search it! Looking for information about rotary cutters? Yep, search that, too.
There is a LOT to explore around here.
I’m so happy you’re here, and I’m really looking forward to getting back into our weekly sewing conversations. I hope you’ll tell me what you’re working on, too. Until next week, friends, keep sewing, keep creating and have a wonderful week!
Happy sewing!
Beth
