Hi, I’m Shirley Greene and I live in rural north-central Maryland. I made this quilt a few years ago. My daughter gave me the book Affairs of the Heart by Aie Rossmann for Christmas 2014. I thought it was the most beautiful quilt I had ever seen. I know I put it away at least twice. Then maybe 3 or 4 years ago I figured I better finish it while I can still see to do a good job while working with that black background. I now have quite a collection of batik and hand-dyed fabrics. I have even traded with friends to get the variety I needed. It now hangs in my family room on a wall that doesn’t see sunlight. I have never entered it in a competition because I’m afraid to let it out of my sight. I enjoy hand sewing. I find it very relaxing.
