I’m Donna Taylor from Battle Creek, Michigan. I’m 89 years old last April. I’ve had total knee replacement open heart surgery, and a stroke.
I have been sewing ever since I was 10 years old. I probably beat everyone the number of times I ran a sewing machine needle through my thumb.

Each Thanksgiving I make all the members of my family ornaments. They are made of leather, felt or whatever I can think of. Some I decorate with old jewelry and old leather purses.

For Christmas I make bigger things like quilts, hats, purses out of jeans and jackets out of blanket throws. I refurbish everything.
The seahorse, pictured above, is a project I just finished for my great-granddaughter.
