Hi! I’m Jean. Here is an awesome all-around travel bag I just finished. I found the pattern at a local quilt shop. They also had a store sample already made and I just knew I needed to make this bag for myself! I used the same outer fabric as the sample, but chose a liner and accent fabric with postage stamps and butterflies to pull out the travel and freedom theme.
The pattern is the Aunties Two Weekend Duffel. My bag is the short bag, which fits in the overhead bins on an airplane. It was a fun bag to make and pretty easy, as long as you read the directions several times. I highly recommend the videos that are available for this pattern. You can watch those on auntiestwo.com for better clarification on some of the steps. I also recommend spraying the bottom and the sides with a bit of Scotchgard, which will help keep the bag clean.
Thanks!
Jean
