Stop, close your eyes, and think for a moment about the softest thing you can think of? What is it? Is it the tush of a newborn baby? Is it a tiny little kitten? Is it a horse’s mane? For me, it is Cuddle® fabric. Every single time! This fabric is seriously the softest thing I have ever felt. If you haven’t experienced it, you totally need to dive into the world of Cuddle®!
What Can You Make with Cuddle?
The project possibilities are endless but I have a favorite. Baby blankets. Cuddle® makes the softest, cuddliest, and cutest baby blankets! Trust me when I say that the parents of the baby will ooh and aah over your homemade blanket or quilt and how soft it is. Remember, the difference between a quilt and a blanket is that quilts have three layers (a top, middle/batting, and a backing), while a blanket can be made up of one or two layers only. With Cuddle® fabric, you don’t always need three layers. A baby blanket made with two layers is just lovely. My second favorite thing to make with Cuddle® fabric is to use it as the backing on quilts. My quilts are usually pieced cotton on the front and many times I use Cuddle® fabric on the back. If you are a longarm quilter, or if you quilt your own quilts on your domestic machine, do NOT be intimidated by Cuddle® fabric. It is not hard to quilt and there is no reason to be intimidated. The trick to using it on my longarm quilting machine is to just not wind it too tightly onto the frame. I have never had an issue with using Cuddle® or any type of minky fabric on my machine.

Cuddle® truly makes an amazing backing fabric. If you love texture and warmth, then Cuddle® is for you. It is so soft! It quilts up beautifully and your finished product will feel amazing! It does come in wide widths. If you have never felt the Luxe Cuddle® products, then you might want to check those out. If there were a picture of softness in the dictionary, it would be Luxe Cuddle® fabric! That’s how soft it is! I really can’t even put it into words for this article. Just know that it is the softest thing I have ever felt in my life.

While shopping for Cuddle® kits, I came across this pillow kit for mastectomy patients. As a breast cancer survivor, I was impressed. These small pillows would’ve been such a blessing when I was recovering from surgery many years ago. They are designed to go under the arm to relieve achiness and pain from breast surgery. Kudos to Shannon Fabrics, makers of Cuddle® fabric, patterns, and kits. I love this one!
