Sewist’s Name: Kathleen Ulinski from Fairview, North Carolina

Type of Project: Dresses

Pattern: Anna Scott by Connie Palmer

Featured Date: 6-21-23

Hi, I am Kathleen Ulinski. I have been sewing for 60 years and studied heirloom sewing several times with Martha Pullen at her summer Heirloom Sewing School in Alabama. I live in Fairview, North Carolina. This is an outfit I made for my great-granddaughter from Moda, Gradients Parfait, Bubblegum Roses. I made the rose with double-sided ribbon using Kari Mecca’s Whimsy Sticks.  The pattern is Anna Scott by Connie Palmer, which was pictured on a recent cover of Classic Sewing Magazine. The doll pattern was in Connie Palmer’s Doll Club 2022.  I modified them to fit the trims I had and added cording to the pin tucks. The trims are French lace, pink entredeux/beading with pink silk ribbon, and Swiss embroidery. I also made the hairbows.

I am a passionate sewist of cloth dolls, purses, decorative pillows, heirloom clothing for babies and girls, soft toys, church linens, holiday home decor items, quilted works and ornaments, christening gowns, tutus, dog clothes, cloth doll houses and anything made with textiles and threads. I also make cute hair bows and flowers with ribbons. I love to crochet, embroider, needlepoint, and decoupage.

Thank you!

Kathleen
