Hi, I’m Pam and I would like to show you how I’ve added beads to coiled rope bowls. Here’s an illustration as to what else you can do. I cannot remember how long ago I made it. Basically, I wanted to try adding beads and started out on the third “turn-up”. I tied off the stitching, allowed a bead space of approximately 1.5 inches on the bottom and 2 inches on the top, then began sewing again. Directly across from the first space, and after another round, I repeated the process, then just kept on adding spaces so that the beads are more or less equidistant from each other as they progress up the bowl. Then I added the beads using a long needle and patience! The wavy edges were a complete surprise and I think they add to the charm…..
Happy sewing, Pam
